Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator to monitor and troubleshoot the VDI environment for SOUTHCOM. The onsite role is based in Key West, FL, requiring a Secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI.

Responsibilities include designing and managing the VDI stack, configuring virtual machines, ensuring performance, backups, disaster recovery, and security of desktop virtualization systems.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of hands-on VDI administration experience.
• Proficiency with Horizon, Citrix VAD, or RDS technologies.
• Strong virtualization concepts and hypervisor knowledge (VMware vSphere/Hyper-V).
• Exceptional troubleshooting for complex VDI issues and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements the VDI infrastructure and desktop templates.
• Monitors VDI performance and resolves issues with desktops, apps, and user connectivity.
• Installs and maintains hypervisor software and VDI host pools.
• Plans capacity, manages servers, storage, and security for VDI environments.
• Executes backups, disaster recovery, and upgrade tasks for VDI components.
