Job summary

Wohlsen Construction is seeking a VDC Director to lead our Virtual Design & Construction function and shape a multi-region capability that improves project execution across teams. You will drive model-based workflows, establish standards, and engage clients with executive-level leadership.

You will manage VDC Managers and Engineers, guide tool investments, and embed VDC into estimating, constructability, and field operations to reduce risk and rework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years in VDC/BIM with leadership/management responsibilities.
• Proficiency with BIM authoring/coordination tools and model-based estimating, visualization, and reality-capture workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to build or scale a VDC/BIM function, with team development and standardization.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and grow the VDC team across regions.
• Own the VDC strategic roadmap and software selection.
• Establish standardized VDC deliverables and minimum service levels by project phase.
• Drive early VDC involvement in preconstruction and design reviews.
• Set direction on technology investments including 4D and modeling capabilities.
• Represent VDC in client pursuits and leadership reporting.
