Job summary

Wohlsen Construction seeks a VDC Director to lead its Virtual Design & Construction function across multiple regions. You will set strategy, manage the VDC team, and standardize deliverables to reduce risk and improve project execution.

You will drive early VDC engagement, oversee tools and vendor partnerships, and present to clients and executives as the senior VDC voice within the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and relevant VDC/BIM experience.
• Proven ability to build or scale a VDC/BIM function with standardized processes.
• Excellent executive presence with client and leadership communication skills.
• Knowledge of Design/Build, IPD and emerging VDC technologies (4D, digital twin).

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and grow the VDC team across regions with hiring and development.
• Own the VDC strategic roadmap and software selection for the practice.
• Establish standardized VDC deliverables, service levels, and project-phase engagement.
• Drive early VDC involvement in preconstruction and design phases.
• Oversee technology investments, including 4D animation and modeling capabilities.
• Serve as the executive-facing VDC leader in client pursuits and reporting.
