Job summary

Clark Construction Group is seeking a Virtual Design & Construction Project Engineer to lead technical and engineering support on a project team, focusing on BIM/VDC coordination, model management, and integration with clients, trade partners, and architects.

You will assist the VDC Manager across the project lifecycle from design through turnover, support laser scans, drone data, and coordinate MEP clashes with emphasis on QA/QC, meetings, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
• 2+ years’ experience as a VDC engineer/coordinator, Project Engineer, Project Architect or a similar role in the construction industry.
• Demonstrated knowledge and interest in BIM and VDC software used at Clark (Revit, ACC, Navisworks, Fuzor, Sketchup).
• Extensive ability to navigate complex/federated models, design documentation, specs, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
• Excellent knowledge of BIM processes used for MEP coordination in project delivery.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with drive to pursue continued education in VDC.

Responsibilities

• Support model coordination with Architectural, MEPTF, Civil, and other disciplines; work with superintendents on site utilization plans and logistics including AR/VR integrations.
• Support enforcement of the BIM coordination plan/schedule.
• Oversee and facilitate reality capture including 360 photo documentation and aerial (drone) operations.
• Collaborate with the VDC Manager in designing and implementing VDC strategy throughout the project life cycle.
• Assist internal departments to understand current processes and implement VDC processes.
• Identify and manage constructability issues, missing model information, and RFIs to support resolution.
• Represent Clark in VDC presentations to clients and industry groups.
• Assist with VDC goals and monitor BIM workflows, QA/QC, and value proposition.
• Review and oversee technical VDC project setup, including laser scans and sUAS data.
• Facilitate BIM meetings and design MEP coordination sessions.
• Interact with job sites and maintain understanding of project VDC implementations.
• Foster collaboration among VDC personnel and share best practices.
