Job summary

Power Design, Inc. seeks a VDC Design Manager to lead the virtual design and coordination for complex projects. You will manage BIM deliverables, clash detection, installation planning, and constructability reviews while ensuring codes and Power Design standards are met.

You'll collaborate with operations, engineering, and field teams, supervise VDC staff, and drive value engineering and efficiency across preconstruction and design phases. This is a hands-on leadership role.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or higher in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in construction, VDC, BIM modeling, or design.
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
• Proficient in Revit; working knowledge of AutoCAD/Navisworks/Bluebeam.
• Ability to lead coordination efforts and resolve conflicts.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead VDC coordination from preconstruction through design completion.
• Manage schedules, deliverables, and timelines.
• Lead meetings and clash detection and resolve conflicts.
• Review plans, BIM Execution Plans, contracts for compliance.
• Develop and maintain BIM models, drawings, installation docs.
• Collaborate with teams for constructability reviews.
• Provide value engineering while maintaining quality.
• Maintain project documentation (RFIs, ASIs, addenda).
• Monitor budgets and production goals; ensure quality.
• Guide VDC team members and stakeholders.
