The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in the Washington, DC Metro Area is seeking undergraduate interns to gain hands‑on experience in VDC and Digital Technologies across office and job site settings.
Interns will learn through structured tasks, supporting VDC and project teams, and may participate in phases from initiation to turnover during a 10–12 week, 40-hour work week. Housing may be provided in certain situations.
Open to undergraduate students interested in gaining hands‑on practical experience in the construction field with a specialization in Virtual Building practices and Digital Technologies.
Qualified applicants will assist our VDC and project teams through all phases of a project‑from initiation through turnover.
Reporting Relationship: Depending on the work assignment, interns will report to a VDC Manager, Project Manager, Superintendent, or VDC Engineer. You may be assigned to the office, jobsite or mix of both.
You will be learning how technology enhances construction processes in addition to technical aspects of the project both in the field and in the office. Your experience will include some or all the following:
You should be familiar with the following software: Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint; Sketchup and Autodesk CAD, Revit, & Navisworks Manage.
