Job summary

The Weitz Company is hiring a VDC Engineer to join our Mission Critical team on data center projects in San Marcos, TX. This role will focus on the design, management, and implementation of VDC systems including modeling and field solution technologies to streamline workflows and enhance VDC utilization on assigned project(s).

The position involves model development, field support, and application of 3D/4D/5D tools, collaboration with project teams, and ongoing documentation and training.

Qualifications

• Previous internship experience in a construction role supporting VDC.
• LEAN principles experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Model development and coordination of VDC models with field alignment.
• Provide proactive field support including execution plans, takeoffs, constructability coordination, visuals, schedule phasing.
• Apply VDC tools (3D, 4D, 5D) to improve project workflows and coordination.
• Collaborate with project teams to implement VDC workflows on site and in the office.
• Manage RFIs, ASIs, and digital documentation workflows; ensure data is accessible to stakeholders.
• Provide basic training and contribute to VDC standards and training materials.
• Research and test new software/hardware; support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare visuals, models, and documentation to highlight VDC contributions for marketing/business development.
• Represent the VDC team professionally on jobsites and meetings; pursue continuous learning.
• Other duties as assigned.
