Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a VDC Engineer to join our Mission Critical team for data center projects in San Marcos, TX. You will help design, model, and coordinate VDC systems, ensuring alignment with field conditions and project schedules.

Responsibilities include developing VDC models, supporting field teams with 3D/4D/5D workflows, preparing visuals, and contributing to standards and training. Internship experience in construction is valued.

Qualifications

• Previous internship experience in a construction role supporting VDC
• LEAN principles experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Model development and coordination with increasing independence
• Provide field support including execution plans, quantity takeoffs, constructability, visuals, schedule phasing, LiDAR scanning, and drone operations
• Apply VDC tools (3D, 4D, 5D) to improve project workflows and coordination
• Collaborate with project teams to implement VDC workflows and communicate with field and office staff
• Manage RFIs, ASIs, and digital documentation workflows; compute metrics for management review
• Provide basic training and contribute to VDC standards and training materials
• Research, test, and assist with new software and hardware implementations
• Prepare visuals, models, and documentation to highlight VDC contributions for marketing and business development
• Represent the VDC team professionally on jobsites and meetings; stay current with VDC tools
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
