Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an Electrical Virtual Design & Construction Engineer to support data center projects. You will develop Electrical Shop, DFI and DFMA drawings, create 3D/4D models, renderings, and simulations to communicate designs and assist with project pursuits and construction operations.

Collaborating with preconstruction and field teams, you will lead clash resolution, coordinate RFI visualizations, and help implement VDC standards while researching new software and hardware to

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a construction role supporting VDC preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC code.
• LEAN principles experience is desirable.
• Data center experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Electrical Shop, DFI, and DFMA drawings.
• Provide quantity takeoff, bill of materials and schedules from BIM/3D models.
• Create streamlined workflows with preconstruction and field teams.
• Assist with execution plans, takeoffs, constructability coordination, RFI visualization and schedule phasing.
• Lead clash resolution and coordination meetings to completion.
• Facilitate problem solving using technology and collaboration with project teams.
• Provide onsite project engineering for BIM projects and oversee field installation monitoring.
• Create 3D/4D models, renderings and simulations for presentations and construction efforts.
• Create training material with learning and development.
• Research, test, and assist with new software/hardware implementation.
• Support company goals; identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Assist in creating/maintaining VDC standards and best practices.
• Compute metrics for management review and propose improvements.
• Provide technical support to project managers onsite; ensure BIM docs are current and accessible.
• Create virtual simulations to validate site logistics, safety, sequencing, scheduling, and VR/AR experiences.
• Keep abreast of latest software and technology.
