Job summary

Power Design is seeking a VDC Assistant Design Manager to support the Preconstruction Virtual Design process. You will develop detailed BIM models, shop drawings, and construction documentation using BIM tools while ensuring code-compliant and cost-effective installations.

You will collaborate with internal teams, customers, consultants, and trade partners to advance design coordination, constructability reviews, and installation detailing for successful project execution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction, VDC, BIM modeling, detailing, or installation within Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing systems.
• Proficiency with Revit and working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM technologies.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and contract documents.
• Understanding of construction coordination, clash detection, and installation best practices.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting prefabrication, fabrication, field layout, or installation planning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support projects during preconstruction and design coordination phases under supervision of a VDC Design Manager/Project Executive.
• Maintain knowledge of codes, standards, and Power Design best practices.
• Develop and maintain BIM models using Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and related software.
• Perform 2D and 3D modeling and coordination for assigned systems and project scopes.
• Participate in clash detection and coordination meetings with project stakeholders.
