Job summary

Adams Electric Company is seeking a VDC/BIM Coordinator to oversee high-priority BIM projects and coordinate electrical layout per contract documents. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Revit and Navisworks.

You will work with the VDC/BIM Manager and engineers on design, clash studies, and construction documents, ensuring accurate BIM deliverables and on-schedule progress.

Qualifications

• Two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Proficient in Blue Beam, Revit MEP and Navisworks.
• Experience with electrical layout in Revit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee high-priority BIM projects requiring special attention.
• Manage layout, input, coordination, and shop drawings.
• Keep VDC/BIM Manager updated on current status.
• Coordinate electrical system layout per contract and code.
• Perform clash detection and communicate results to the team.
• Develop coordination studies and scheduling with other trades.
• Produce 3D BIM models with dimensions, specs, materials.
• Create BIM models for graphic walk-throughs using Navisworks.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Preconstruction Team.
• Generate construction documents from BIM/3D models.
• Provide quantity takeoffs, BOMs from BIM models.
• Liaise with Vendors to leverage advances in electrical modeling.
• Provide onsite BIM engineering support and monitor field changes.
• Assist PMs and superintendents in pre-design layout.
• Ensure digital BIM docs are current and accessible to management.
