Job summary

ISOutsource is seeking an experienced virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) to guide client cybersecurity programs across industries in the Western US and beyond. You’ll translate risk into strategy, steer governance, and advance security roadmaps.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of leadership in cybersecurity, strong communication with executives, and a proven ability to drive compliance with frameworks such as NIST CSF, HIPAA, and PCI DSS. Some travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, risk management, compliance, or IT leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in technology field or equivalent.
• Strong ability to translate cybersecurity risks into business strategy for executives.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level cybersecurity consulting and strategic guidance to clients.
• Develop and manage cybersecurity roadmaps and ISMS.
• Lead governance, risk assessments, and remediation prioritization.
• Guide clients on regulatory requirements including NIST, CMMC, HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOC 2.
• Support audits, questionnaires, and attestations.
• Advise on vulnerability management and third-party risk.
• Lead incident response planning and tabletop exercises.
• Present cybersecurity program updates to client leadership.
