Job summary

ISOutsource is seeking an experienced virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) to guide client cybersecurity programs, governance, and risk management.

You will build roadmaps, lead ISMS efforts, and translate complex security concepts into clear business guidance for executives while collaborating with sales and engineering teams.

Bachelor's in tech, 8+ years in cybersecurity, and relevant certifications preferred; travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technology field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, risk management, or IT leadership.
• Valid driver's license with local travel to client locations.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, CGRC or equivalent are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive cybersecurity consulting and strategic guidance to clients.
• Develop and manage cybersecurity roadmaps, security programs, and ISMS.
• Lead governance, risk assessments, gap analyses, risk registers, remediation priorities, and steering committee discussions.
• Guide clients through NIST, CMMC, HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOC 2 and other applicable standards.
• Support audit readiness, compliance assessments, and annual attestations.
• Advise on vulnerability management, third-party risk, and security posture improvements.
• Lead incident response planning and tabletop exercises, including strategic guidance during incidents.
• Present cybersecurity program updates, trends, risks, and priorities to client leadership.
