Job summary

ISOutsource is seeking an experienced Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) to guide clients in building stronger cybersecurity programs. You will lead governance, risk management, and compliance efforts across client organizations, delivering strategic roadmaps and executive-level advisement.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, market-facing strategy, and ongoing client engagement, with participation in audits and regulatory readiness. Local travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technology field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of progressive cybersecurity/IT leadership experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.
• CISSP/CISM/CRISC/CISA/CGRC or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Excellent communication with executive and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level cybersecurity consulting and strategic guidance to clients.
• Develop and manage cybersecurity roadmaps, security programs, and ISMS.
• Lead governance, risk assessments, gap analyses, risk registers, remediation priorities, and steering committee discussions.
• Guide clients through regulatory, contractual, and framework requirements (NIST, CMMC, HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOC 2, and others).
• Support audit readiness, compliance assessments, and cybersecurity questionnaires.
• Advise on vulnerability management and third-party risk.
• Lead incident response planning and tabletop exercises.
• Present cybersecurity program updates to client leadership.
• Partner with internal and client teams to turn strategy into action.
• Meet revenue, utilization, client satisfaction, documentation, and time-entry goals.
• Travel to client sites as required.
