Job summary

HDR seeks a VCF Platform Engineer I to provide day-to-day support for the private cloud, including vSphere cluster operations and lifecycle tasks. The role requires on-site presence and collaboration across compute, storage, and networking teams.

You will ensure platform health, perform routine maintenance, and assist with patches, upgrades, and incident response while expanding IaC templates and runbooks for standard builds and golden VM images.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in infrastructure operations, virtualization, or systems administration.
• Hands-on VMware vSphere administration experience.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows Server administration.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operational support for the VCF private cloud platform under established procedures.
• Support administration of SDDC Manager, workload domains, and vSphere cluster operations.
• Execute routine platform tasks such as host adds/removals, cluster maintenance, certificate updates, and health checks.
• Assist with VCF lifecycle operations including patching, upgrades, and remediation activities.
• Provision infrastructure resources and support deployment of workload domains and virtual machine hosting environments.
• Monitor platform health, utilization, and capacity; escalate risks to senior engineers or Platform Manager.
• Participate in incident response as a first responder for infrastructure and platform issues.
• Support maintenance of infrastructure-as-code templates, standard builds, and golden VM images.
• Cross-train across compute, storage, and networking components within VCF.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and support knowledge articles.
