Job summary

HDR is seeking a VCF Platform Engineer I to support the private cloud and ensure stable, scalable infrastructure for 24/7 operations. You will handle routine tasks, lifecycle upgrades, and incident response to maintain high availability.

You will work with VMware vSphere, SDDC Manager, and automation tools while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role is on-site with shift coverage requirements and on-call flexibility to sustain business continuity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in infrastructure operations, virtualization, or systems administration.
• Hands-on VMware vSphere administration experience.
• Experience managing ESXi hosts, clusters, and VMs.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and repeatable deployment methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for the VCF private cloud per established procedures.
• Assist with SDDC Manager, workload domains, and vSphere cluster operations.
• Perform routine platform tasks: host adds/removals, cluster maintenance, cert updates, health checks.
• Contribute to VCF lifecycle tasks: patching, upgrades, remediation.
• Provision infrastructure resources and support workload domain deployments and VM hosting.
• Monitor platform health, utilization and capacity; escalate risks as needed.
• Participate in incident response for infrastructure and platform issues.
• Maintain infrastructure-as-code templates, standard builds, and golden VM images.
• Cross-train across compute, storage, and networking within VCF.
• Maintain runbooks and support knowledge articles.
