Job summary

HDR is seeking a VCF Platform Engineer I to perform day-to-day operational support for the VCF private cloud, manage vSphere clusters, and assist with lifecycle activities. The role requires hands-on VMware experience and familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices.

Responsibilities include patching, upgrades, health checks, capacity monitoring, and incident response. This is an on-site role with 24/7 shift coverage and on-call flexibility in a collaborative HDR environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere administration.
• Experience managing ESXi hosts, clusters, and virtual machines.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and repeatable deployment methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operational support for the VCF private cloud platform.
• Support administration of SDDC Manager, workload domains, and vSphere cluster operations.
• Execute routine platform tasks such as host adds/removals, cluster maintenance, certificate updates, and health checks.
• Assist with VCF lifecycle operations including patching, upgrades, and remediation activities.
• Provision infrastructure resources and support deployment of workload domains and virtual machine hosting environments.
• Monitor platform health, utilization, and capacity; escalate risks and issues to senior engineers or Platform Manager.
• Participate in incident response for infrastructure and platform issues.
• Support maintenance of infrastructure-as-code templates and golden VM images.
• Cross-train across compute, storage, and networking components within VCF.
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
