Qualifications

• CPA license required and active.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field.
• 5–9 years of public accounting audit experience serving venture capital, private equity, investment companies or alternative investment funds.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, investment company accounting, audit methodology and risk assessment concepts.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements, deadlines, teams and client relationships simultaneously.
• Proven ability to supervise, mentor and develop Associates and Seniors.

Responsibilities

• Manage venture capital fund audit engagements from pre-planning to report issuance and binder close with minimal oversight.
• Develop audit strategies, risk assessments, engagement plans and timelines.
• Review audit workpapers, financial statements and documentation for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Identify and resolve accounting/audit matters including investment valuations, capital activity and related items.
• Supervise multiple engagements and teams, reallocating resources to stay on schedule.
• Maintain clear communication with engagement teams, Directors and Partners about status and budgets.
• Serve as primary day-to-day client contact and respond to communications timely.
• Explain technical accounting/auditing matters to clients and teams.
