Qualifications

• Active certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.

Job description

Overview

This position is PRN, days, Monday through Friday, at Methodist.

Performs ultrasound procedures to include vascular assessments for radiological diagnosis, in a timely fashion, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Treats patients with care and respect.

Minimum Requirements

• Basic Life Support certification, required.
• Requires active status through one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Vascular Technologist - Vascular Technology, RVT (VT); Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Vascular Sonographer, RVS; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Vascular Sonography RT(VS).
• May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
• May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
• May require experience in diagnostic ultrasound, if applicable.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
