Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound and vascular studies according to physician specifications and established protocols. The role requires participation in call rotations as needed and ongoing adherence to quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include producing diagnostic images, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining up-to-date expertise through continuing education.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma graduate of approved CAHEA school of diagnostic medical sonography or certification program.
• In good standing with the ARDMS.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths/weaknesses of solutions; ability to assess performance and implement improvements.
• Ability to handle medical and confidential information ethically and securely.
• Strong customer service, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists in non-routine specialized exams, such as vascular studies and procedures utilizing advanced imaging equipment and techniques.
• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures on various vascular systems for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
• Ensures quality control and quality improvement activities according to guidelines and regulations.
• Maintains current expertise in ultrasound topics and completes required continuing education.
• Coordinates with radiologists to establish proper imaging parameters and protocols.
• Revises and reviews current protocols to ensure high-quality diagnostic tests.
