Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved CAHEA school of diagnostic medical sonography or a certification program.
• ARDMS in good standing by hire.
• Ability to handle medical and confidential information ethically.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• RDMS/ RVT/ VS/ RT credentials required upon hire or as stated.

Responsibilities

• Assist in non-routine specialized exams such as vascular studies using advanced imaging equipment.
• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures on vascular systems for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
• Ensures quality control and quality improvement according to guidelines and regulations.
• Maintains current level of expertise in topics related to ultrasound and continuing education.
• Coordinates with radiologists to establish imaging parameters and protocols.
• Assists in revising and reviewing current protocols to ensure high quality tests.
• Ensures consents are present and signed before taking patients from waiting room.
• Produces diagnostic images and prepares images for interpretation by the radiologist.
