Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound and/or vascular exams with autonomy, following physician specifications and protocols. The role supports high-acuity patients across emergency, inpatient and outpatient settings, including trauma and ICU scenarios.

Responsibilities include ensuring image quality, maintaining equipment protocols, and coordinating with radiologists.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and strong written and verbal communications.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
• Must handle medical and confidential information ethically and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assists in non-routine specialized exams, such as vascular studies.
• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures on vascular systems as per protocols.
• Maintains quality control and quality improvement activities according to guidelines and regulations.
• Keeps current with ultrasound topics and continuing education requirements.
• Coordinates imaging parameters with radiologists and reviews protocols to ensure high-quality tests.
• Ensures proper consents are present before taking patients from waiting room.
• Produces diagnostic images and prepares them for radiologist interpretation.
