Job description

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties of a Peripheral Vascular Tech I
• Prepares equipment, ensuring that it is operational, safe, and functioning according to diagnostic standards.
• Actively participates in patient testing, performing routine, non-routine, urgent, and emergent patient requests.
• Communicates with Patient Transportation, Nursing Units, Physician Offices, and other diagnostic areas to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe diagnostic procedures for patients.
• Performs portable examinations at the bedside to ensure patient safety and provide immediate diagnostic testing when needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Licensure:

• Associate’s Degree in a health-related program, including seminar course training in cardiac ultrasound, or a one-year certificate preferred.
• Registered by the American Diagnostic Registry for Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as RVT or RDCS, or registered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as RVS or RCS.

Minimum Experience:

• Three (3) years of related experience.

Position Summary

The Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic procedures in Peripheral Vascular Imaging. Responsibilities include providing preliminary reports, patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre- and post-diagnostic care. The technologist performs comprehensive diagnostic tests, including patient positioning, equipment calibration, and documentation of findings, under the supervision of the supervisor or Non-Invasive Cardiology Manager. Assists patients with basic care needs, provides emergency care when necessary, and ensures patient safety at all times.
