Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a Vascular Sonographer to perform routine, critical care, and diagnostic ultrasound procedures. You will maintain equipment, report abnormal findings promptly, and support departmental operations per hospital policies.

Applicants should have an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program, RVT certification via ARDMS, and at least one year of relevant experience, plus BLS per policy. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

Position Summary

The Vascular Sonographer performs routine, critical care, and diagnostic procedures as ordered by the Physician. They conduct basic equipment maintenance and quality control measures, report abnormal findings to the physician when immediate attention is required, and handle other administrative, technical, or supervisory tasks as needed. They apply appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure, following all established Ultrasound, Radiology, and Hospital Policies and Procedures. They are proficient in exams within and outside of the Department.

Qualifications
Education
  • A single two‑year allied health education program that is patient‑care related (e.g., diagnostic medical sonographer, radiologic technologist, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, or registered nurse) OR a graduate of a program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), United States Department of Education (USDOE) or Canadian Medical Association (CMA) that specifically conducts programmatic accreditation for diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology.
  • Minimum one year experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.
Experience

One year of experience performing sonography.

Licensed / Certification Required
  • RVT by ARDMS
  • BLS required per St. David’s HealthCare policy

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is a 368‑bed acute care hospital within St. David’s HealthCare, offering comprehensive specialty and sub‑specialty services.
