Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse, NY seeks a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with RNFA certification to join the Operative Vascular Surgery team.

The role is inpatient only, with a mix of day, evening, overnights, and weekend shifts to support a high-need patient population. You will work closely with surgeons and APPs, provide pre/postoperative care, patient education, and discharge planning in a collaborative, team-based environment with strong support and growth

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program with RNFA certification.
• Active NYS license (or eligible).
• DEA license required and board certification expected.

Responsibilities

• First assist in the OR with all vascular cases, including minimally invasive and endovascular procedures.
• Manage preoperative and postoperative care, including rounds and assessments.
• Collaborate with Surgeons, APP colleagues, and nursing staff to implement treatment plans.
• Provide patient education, care coordination, and discharge planning.
• Inpatient only, no clinic hours; schedule mix of day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.
