Job summary

Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute invites an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the vascular surgery team. The role focuses on assisting surgeons in the OR, hospital, and clinic, handling a broad spectrum of vascular conditions and both routine and complex procedures.

Responsibilities include comprehensive exams, documentation, treatment planning, and collaborating with teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of vascular surgery PA/NP experience preferred.
• Completed accredited PA/surgical assistant or acute care NP program.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Board certification by appropriate board.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and periodic medical histories, examinations, and daily assessments.
• Records findings of examinations, assessments, and plan of care.
• Writes prescriptions and administers medications as appropriate.
• Orders and interprets laboratory and radiology examinations.
• Determines treatment plans for patients.
• Documents all patient encounters in the medical record.
• Acts as a patient advocate for the population served.
• Attends, participates in group meetings and policy development when requested.
• Interest in working in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Weekend and shared surgical call.
