Job summary

Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians in Augusta is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the In-patient Vascular Service. The role includes inpatient rounding, first assisting in the OR, and occasional crossover into the clinic, working with a team of cardiovascular specialists.

Candidates must hold Georgia PA or NP licensure with the appropriate degrees; vascular, cardiovascular, or general surgery experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• PA: Graduate of a Physician Assistant program with current Georgia license.
• NP: Master’s degree in Nursing with Georgia Advanced Practice Nursing license.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures to support physician diagnosis and treatment.
• Takes patient histories, conducts exams, writes progress notes, and builds therapeutic relationships.
• Orders and schedules labs and diagnostic procedures; explains procedures to patient and family.
• Monitors patient progress and reports to supervising physician; maintains progress records.
• Inpatient vascular care, clinic coverage, and OR assistance as needed.
