Job Description:

The Department of Surgery and the Cardiovascular Center at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville (UF COM-J), is seeking a Vascular surgeon at the non-tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. The Department of Surgery and the Cardiovascular Center boasts a team of board-certified and fellowship-trained cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons and vascular surgeons who work side by side to care for patients with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular conditions at UF Health Jacksonville - a tertiary care teaching hospital and a regional referral center for specialty care. The mission and vision of the department is to be the region’s most valued surgical health care asset, with the nation’s best surgical care at your doorstep.

The Department of Surgery and the Cardiovascular Center are extremely active clinically, academically and educationally. Pioneering innovative approaches to the management of vascular trauma, we are poised for significant growth in vascular care as we expand the elective surgical practice throughout the Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia region. We are seeking a candidate with broad clinical experience in vascular surgery with a particular interest in endovascular therapies. Major responsibilities include patient care, teaching, and research.

This position will academically report to the Chair of the Department of Surgery and operationally to the Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Center at the UF COM-J. Every faculty member in the department will have a mentoring team assigned to them and participate in the department wide faculty development program.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide and maintain a high level of quality in-patient intermediate care services in all aspects of Vascular Surgery.
  • Provide clinical teaching of trainees in Vascular Surgery and participate in the educational program.
  • Be responsible for excellent communication with primary care physicians.
  • Assist in marketing the Vascular Surgery Programs to community physicians and managed care organizations.
  • Participate in monthly division meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested.

Expected Salary:

Salary and academic appointment are negotiable and the benefits are excellent.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates should have a MD/DO and fellowship training in Vascular Surgery.

Preferred Qualifications:

BE/BC is preferred. Experience in all aspects of the evaluation and treatment of aortic diseases, lower extremity occlusive disease, complex hemodialysis access, and the full spectrum of venous diseases.
