Compensation Range: Annual Salary: $74,005.00 - $104,310.00

Position Details: Assistant or Associate Professor in Cybersecurity – Remote; Hybrid for San Diego-based applicants.

Position Summary

The Department of Cybersecurity and Technology seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor. The role involves teaching, scholarship, and service, with a focus on developing a current cybersecurity curriculum, knowledge of Linux, Windows, and cybersecurity tools, and serving our adult learners.

This position is remote; San Diego candidates will work in a hybrid model, meeting students twice a month for 2.5 hours each session.

Essential Functions

Teaching

• Teach and develop online and onsite cybersecurity courses.
• Maintain expertise in pedagogy and subject matter.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
• Follow the university’s academic integrity policies.

Scholarship

• Maintain a productive research agenda.
• Engage in scholarly activities and professional development.

Service

• Participate in curriculum oversight and governance.
• Serve on committees and engage in community outreach.
• Contribute to program development, including updating course materials.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Cybersecurity or related field.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, SANS GIAC, CEH, CISM, CISA.
• Minimum 2+ years industry experience in cybersecurity.
• Leadership or program management experience preferred.
• Experience with NSA Centers of Academic Excellence preferred.
• Active involvement in the cybersecurity community preferred.
