Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Sonography program.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) within 3 months of graduation; new grads may provide a Certificate of Completion.
• BLS for healthcare providers is required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies for imaging.
• Selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and QC procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots and reports equipment malfunctions.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyses results and addresses image quality issues; repositions as needed.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
