Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic sonography program or ARDMS certification applicable to the clinical area at hire.
• Two ARDMS areas certified and one additional ARDMS certification obtained within one year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Aufgaben

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, breast, and MSK specialties.
• Review imaging requests and patient history to determine appropriate protocols.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images while minimizing patient exposure.
• Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation.
• Assess and care for patients during procedures in accordance with age-specific standards.
• Communicate pertinent findings to radiologists and ordering providers.
• Prepare examination rooms and sterile equipment, including supplies and accessories.
• Assist with patient positioning, lifting, and transport as required.
• Document imaging procedures and ensure correct patient records and billing.
• Transmit completed studies to PACS and other imaging systems with correct accession numbers.
• Prepare preliminary findings or reports and route to interpreting physicians.
• Perform vascular ultrasound studies per vascular lab protocols.
• Notify providers of acute or critical findings per policy.
• Manage daily worklists and prioritize examinations by urgency.
