Job summary

Yoakum Community Hospital is seeking a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to perform general and vascular studies across multiple departments including the ER, Surgery, and bedside portables.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree in Ultrasound Technology, ARDMS/ARRT certification, and RVT status. Must be CPR current and willing to work nights/weekends/holidays; rotating call may apply. Yoakum’s total rewards program supports health, family, and growth.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Ultrasound Technology required or equivalent.
• ARDMS/ARRT(S) certification required or equivalent.
• RVT certification preferred or required.
• CPR certification current is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures with age-appropriate competency across all patient populations.
• Explain procedures to reduce anxiety, assist with positioning, and maintain communication for safety and comfort.
• Select transducers and equipment controls to capture high-quality images adhering to standards.
• Verify RIS orders, label/measure images, and send studies via DICOM to PACS.
• Review test results with supervisors or attending physicians and align with RIS values.
• Adhere to guidelines, complete compliance training, and maintain credentials.
