Job summary

UT Health East Texas is seeking a Cardiovascular Ultrasound Tech in Tyler, TX for day shift, full-time employment. The role involves performing ultrasound imaging exams, following protocol, and supporting equipment maintenance in a busy cardiovascular scanning unit.

The ideal candidate will hold or be pursuing ARDMS/RDMS/RVT credentials, have an Associate’s degree in Ultrasound Technology, and obtain BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Ultrasound Technology or equivalent.
• ARDMS, RDMS, RVT certifications required or expected within 6 months.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound imaging exams under supervision with physicians and peers.
• Follow exam protocols and accreditation requirements; assist with equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with medical team to ensure high-quality patient care.

• UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

Works under minimal supervision with the physicians and peers to perform ultrasound imaging exams, exam protocols, accreditation, operations, and facilitation of equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in Ultrasound Technology and/or the following licenses or certifications:
• (ARDMS) American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
• (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
• (RVT) Registered Vascular Technologist or obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
