Job summary
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring Patient Care Technicians for the Vascular Unit. This full-time night-shift role (12-hour shifts) includes 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with rotating weekends and holidays.
The PCT assists with patient care, vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, EKG testing, and specimen collection under RN supervision. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.
Qualifications
- Sentara Care Partner Certification Program or CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent.
- US Navy Hospital Corps School or EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic training also eligible.
- Clinical student in RN/LPN/RT/PT programs or recent PCT/Nursing Assistant experience within 3 years.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
- Monitor vital signs, mobility, ambulation, and phlebotomy as directed by RN.
- Perform EKG testing, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.
- Assist with Foley catheter insertion/removal and IV care as needed.
- Document observations accurately and report changes to nursing staff.
