Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a nurse to provide vascular access services under supervision. The role involves performing and documenting assessments, placing PICCs, Midlines, and ultrasound-guided PIVs, and collaborating with the care team to plan patient care.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents assessments considering age specific criteria.
• Responds to vascular access consults and places PICCs, Midlines, and PIVs as needed.
• Collaborates with providers to determine venous access device recommendations and interventions.
• Determines PICC placement using ECG and x-ray; follows up with radiology for catheter tip location.
• Maintains accurate documentation and participates in quality improvement.
