Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking passionate, experienced nurses to join our team and collaborate with top medical professionals. As a VAT nurse, you will perform vascular assessments, ultrasound-guided IV placement, and manage access devices across ICU, ED, and maternal health units.

We value clinical judgement, strong communication, teamwork, and mentoring of staff. A VA-BC certification is preferred, with ASN required and BSN preferred. Indiana RN license or NLC is required.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC.
• BLS certification; other life support may be required.
• VA-BC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform vascular assessments and insert/manage peripheral IVs, PICC lines using ultrasound guidance.
• Respond to VAT consults across ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, Maternity, and ED.
• Monitor vascular devices for patency and complications; educate staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation; adhere to infection control policies.
• Mentor nursing staff on vascular access best practices.
