Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking an experienced RN to join the Vascular Access Team. This role focuses on placing and managing vascular access devices, including PICCs and central lines, with emphasis on patient safety and comfort.

The position offers a 30k sign-on bonus (through 9/30/2026) and referral eligibility. BLS certification and Indiana RN licensure are required, with ASN as minimum education and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires an ASN; BSN preferred.
• Requires an active RN license in Indiana or an active NLC RN license.
• Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification through the AHA required.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department policy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, efficient vascular access for patients receiving intravenous therapy.
• Minimize complications and needle sticks to improve patient comfort and outcomes.
• Perform placement, maintenance, and troubleshooting of vascular access devices in accordance with current standards.

Vascular Access MH & UH

TheVascular Access Team (VAT)at Methodist and University Hospital provides specialized vascular access services. This team is composed of highly trained professionals skilled in the placement, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various vascular access devices, including peripheral IVs, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs), midlines, and central lines.

This position is referral eligible and qualifies for a location differential.

Objective

The primary objective of the Vascular Access Team is to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality vascular access for patients requiring intravenous therapy. This includes minimizing complications, reducing the need for repeated needle sticks, and improving overall patient comfort and outcomes.

Goals

The Vascular Access Team aims to provide the highest standard of care by ensuring that vascular access procedures are performed with minimal discomfort and maximum safety. All efforts are carried out in conjunction with current standards of practice, with patient safety and vessel health and preservation in mind.

Qualifications
