Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with VA-BC certification to join our vascular access team. The role emphasizes ultrasound-guided procedures, patient education, and collaboration across ICU, ED, and inpatient units.

Qualifications

• Requires VA-BC certification and 2+ years of acute care nursing experience, preferably in vascular access.
• Proficiency in ultrasound-guided vascular access and sterile technique.
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive vascular assessments and insert/manage peripheral IVs/midlines/PICC lines using ultrasound guidance.
• Respond to VAT consults across ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, Maternal Child Health, and ED.
• Monitor and troubleshoot vascular access devices for patency, infection, and mechanical issues.
• Educate patients and staff; maintain accurate documentation; adhere to infection control policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and mentor staff in best vascular practices.
