Job summary

Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama is seeking a Vascular Access Specialist to perform PICC insertions in outpatient and inpatient settings, assess and manage patients with complex vascular access needs, and provide education on device care.

You will rotate on-call during evenings, nights and weekends and follow the nursing process to deliver high-quality care. The shift is 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, part-time Per Diem with 0.2 FTE, supporting hospital vascular access services.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Alabama.
• Skill and competency in peripheral IV access and central vascular access devices.
• Must obtain CRNI certification within one year of employment.
• Must be able to rotate on-call during evenings, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Insert PICC lines in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients with complex vascular access needs.
• Repair PICC lines and declot vascular access devices as needed.
• Perform dressing changes on vascular access devices.
• Educate patients and staff on vascular access device care and management.
