Job summary

A public school district is seeking a Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach to lead the program at Paw Paw High School. Responsibilities include coordinating practice and training for grades 6-12, developing a cohesive coaching and curriculum philosophy, and teaching basketball skills while fostering positive character traits. Ideal candidates should have substantial basketball experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and familiarity with coaching tools like Hudl. Certification in First Aid/CPR is a must, along with a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Basketball is essential.
• Successful past coaching experience is preferred.
• Cap 1 and/or Cap 2 Certification & First Aid/CPR Certified required.
• Cap 1 and/or Cap 2 Certification & First Aid/CPR Certified.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to construct comprehensive off-season programs.
• Able to coordinate/teach basketball skills and strategy to build a competitive varsity program.
• Strong personal/social skills with the ability to communicate via multiple media.
• Knowledge of Hudl and ability to schedule, share, clip, and create video for development.
• Experience running social media for the program.
• Willingness to lead/sub-varsity programs to feed varsity (Preferred).
• Knowledge of current MHSAA rules (Preferred).
• Ability to build positive relationships with staff and students (Preferred).
• Motivate athletes/coaches toward program philosophy/goals (Preferred).

• Develop program philosophy and curriculum that builds upon itself from grades 6-12.
• Teach and instruct all aspects of basketball while developing positive character traits.
