Swartz Creek High School seeks a dedicated and visionary Varsity Competitive Cheer Head Coach to lead our program. This pivotal role combines athletic leadership, mentoring, and program management to inspire and develop our student-athletes on and off the mat.

Qualifications

• Proven organizational skills for managing a varsity program.
• Ability to motivate students and adults effectively.
• Availability to meet practice, game, travel, and related schedules.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Previous high school coaching experience preferred.
• MHSAA CAP 1 or 2 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct leader and manager of all aspects of the varsity program, including player development, practice planning, equipment care, and supervision of athletes during practices, games, travel, and other team functions.
• Uphold and consistently enforce all school, district, league, and MHSAA rules and policies.
• Create a safe environment that prioritizes athlete welfare and promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline.
• Effectively communicate with players, parents, officials, fellow coaches, administrators, and community stakeholders to build a supportive and collaborative program.
• Collaborate with the district Athletic Director and other school personnel, responding promptly and professionally to guidance and instructions.
• Act as a role model in personal habits, language, and conduct, reflecting the values and expectations of Swartz Creek High School.
