Job Responsibilities

• Core Responsibilities Program Management: Plan and run daily practices, team tryouts, conditioning, and competition schedules.
• Skill Instruction: Teach safe tumbling, stunting techniques, jumps, and routines according to competitive rubrics.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce state athletic association rules (such as MHSAA or NFHS guidelines) and maintain strict risk-management standards.
• Communication: Maintain transparent communication with athletic directors, school staff, parents, and booster clubs.

Administration: Handle inventory of uniforms, equipment, music selection, registration, and eligibility tracking.

Job Qualifications

• Preferred: 2 to 4 years of competitive cheer coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level.
• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (or willingness to obtain prior to practice).
• Satisfactory criminal background check.
• Sound knowledge of cheer safety rules and athletic association policies.
• Expertise in advanced choreography, stunting safety progression, and score sheet evaluation.
• Valid state teaching certificate or recognized coaching education credentials.
• Experience with strength and conditioning specific to cheer athletes.
