Qualifications

• Experience in cheerleading coaching or related field.

• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus and preferred.
• Must pass a background check as required by district policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for the JV team focusing on skills, stunts, choreography, and conditioning.
• Plan and conduct regular practices with engagement and progressive skill development.
• Organize and oversee competition participation including preparation, travel, and logistics.
• Collaborate with coaching staff to align training with program vision.
• Foster a positive team culture emphasizing teamwork, respect and sportsmanship.
• Communicate with athletes, parents, and administration about expectations, schedules, and performance.
• Ensure safety standards and protocols are followed during practices and events.
• Monitor welfare of team members, providing guidance as needed.
• Attend all required meetings, competitions and events related to the cheer program.

Charlotte High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic team as a JV competitive cheer coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cheerleading, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. This seasonal position offers the opportunity to guide and develop young athletes in their cheerleading skills while promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for the JV competitive cheer team, focusing on cheer skills, stunts, choreography, and conditioning.
• Plan and conduct regular team practices, ensuring that all athletes are engaged and progressing in their skills.
• Organize and oversee participation in competitions, including preparation, travel arrangements, and logistics.
• Collaborate with other coaching staff to align training and performance goals with the overall vision of the cheer program.
• Foster a positive and supportive team culture, encouraging teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship among athletes.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and performance updates.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols during practices and competitions.
• Monitor the physical and emotional well-being of team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Attend all required meetings, competitions, and events related to the cheer program.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in cheerleading, coaching, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques, choreography, and safety practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire athletes.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice and competition schedules.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.
• Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
• A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment for all participants.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in sports management, physical education, or a related field is a plus.
