Qualifications

• Must complete the New Mexico Activities Association's online course requirements for coaching.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Valid New Mexico coaching license is required.
• Three years specific sport-related experience preferred.
• Employment as a teacher is preferred.
• Willingness to adhere to ethical standards and district policies.

Responsibilities

• Supervises student-athletes as assigned by the Head Coach.
• Promotes and encourages participation in sports while maintaining professional conduct.
• Adheres to district rules, regulations, and athletic philosophy; coordinates with athletic staff and principal.
• Develops a competitive program that emphasizes athletic performance, academics, and community expectations.
• Ensures athletes have opportunities to achieve competitive success and academic progress.
• Monitors academic performance to support student-athlete success.
• Enforces the 'Code of Ethics' for all athletes.
• Reports inappropriate behavior and participates in meetings and clinics with the athletic department.
