Qualifications

• Employment as a teacher (preferred).
• Must complete the New Mexico Activities Association’s online course requirements for coaching.
• Valid New Mexico coaching license.
• CPR Certification.
• Three years specific sport related experience preferred.
• Girls Sport – Female candidate preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the responsibilities listed.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises student-athletes and assistants (if applicable).
• Works with the Athletic Director and campus principal to implement the program.
• Promotes sports participation and upholds ethical guidelines.
• Attends professional meetings and clinics and coordinates with coaching staff.
• Monitors academic performance of student-athletes and enforces team standards.

Education

Employment as a teacher (preferred)

Must complete the New Mexico Activities Association’s online course requirements for coaching

Valid New Mexico coaching license

CPR Certification

Three years specific sport related experience preferred

Girls Sport – Female candidate preferred
