Qualifications
- Must possess high school diploma
- Extensive experience with wrestling
- Successful past coaching experience preferred
- Cap 1 and/or Cap 2 Certification & First Aid/CPR Certified
- Strong organizational skills, w/ability to construct comprehensive off-season programs
- Able to coordinate/teach wrestling skills and strategy to build a competitive varsity program
- Strong personal/social skills, with the ability to effectively communicate using a variety of media
- Willingness to lead and develop sub-varsity programs to feed a successful varsity team (Preferred)
- Possesses knowledge of the current MHSAA rules and regulations (Preferred)
- Willingness to build meaningful positive relationships with staff and student body (Preferred)
- Possesses the ability to motivate athletes / coaches to work toward program philosophy/goals (Preferred)
Job Description
- Coordinate in-season and out-of-season practice/training opportunities for grades 6-12
- Develop program philosophy and curriculum that builds upon itself from grades 6-12
- Develop cohesive coaching relationships that work to develop coaches and athletes grades 6-12
- Teach and instruct all aspects of wrestling, while working to develop and emphasize positive character traits in all athletes
- Provide coaching, encouragement, and instructional guidance to all athletes & staff in the program, youth-Varsity
Salary/Benefits: Per VBCEA/PPEA, MEA-NEA contract Schedule C
Days/Hours: 2025/2026 Season Contract
