Job summary

TILT is seeking a strategic Product Manager to oversee ODM partnerships for cannabis vape hardware. You will bridge international ODMs with engineering, marketing, and commercial teams to deliver differentiated platforms across cartridges, disposables, pod systems, and heating tech.

Based in Scottsdale with hybrid/remote options, you will own MRDs/PRDs, manage supplier roadmaps (notably in Shenzhen), ensure compliance testing, and drive go-to-market readiness with sales and operations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of product management experience, with a track record in consumer electronics or ODM/OEM hardware partnerships.
• Deep understanding of vaporization physics, battery management systems, and hardware design constraints.
• Experience collaborating with international suppliers and跨-cultural teams.
• Proficiency with Agile and product management tools and basic PLM concepts.

Responsibilities

• ODM Partner Management with overseas partners to manage roadmaps and co-development projects.
• Define MRDs and PRDs detailing form factors, aesthetics, battery performance, and branding constraints.
• Ensure oil-to-hardware compatibility with extract viscosities and terpene profiles.
• Conduct competitive analysis of hardware trends and analyze teardowns for new technologies.
• Coordinate with compliance and QA to audit test reports for safety, metals, pesticides, and regional regulations.
• Lead lifecycle readiness and GTM efforts with supply chain, sales, and marketing.

Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and technical Product Manager to oversee our Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) product portfolio. In this role, you will lead the definition, customization, and localization of cutting-edge cannabis vape hardware platforms developed by global ODM partners. You will act as the primary bridge between international manufacturing partners, internal engineering, marketing, and commercial teams. Your goal is to commercialize high-performance, compliant, and differentiated hardware (cartridges, disposables, pod systems, and heating tech) that matches our brand identity and market demands.

Responsibilities/daily tasks:

• ODM Partner Management: Act as the primary commercial and product interface with overseas ODM partners (primarily in Shenzhen, China) to manage product roadmaps, customization options, and co-development projects.
• Product Requirement Definition: Author comprehensive Market Requirement Documents (MRDs) and Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) detailing custom form factors, aesthetics, battery performance, oil compatibility, and branding constraints for ODM execution.
• Oil-to-Hardware Compatibility: Collaborate closely with internal oil formulation labs and extraction teams to ensure ODM hardware platforms are optimized for various extract viscosities (distillate, live resin, rosin) and terpene profiles.
• Competitive Analysis: Monitor global hardware trends, patent filings, and competitor teardowns to identify next-generation ODM technologies (e.g., ceramic core innovations, smart microchips, postless designs) worth onboarding.
• Compliance & Validation: Partner with compliance and quality assurance (QA) teams to audit ODM test reports, ensuring hardware passes rigorous heavy metal leaching tests, pesticide safety standards, and regional electrical requirements.
• Lifecycle & Go-To-Market: Lead cross-functional readiness across supply chain, sales, and marketing to launch white-label or heavily customized proprietary ODM platforms onto the market.

Qualifications: Experience, Education

• Experience: 3–5 years of product management experience, with a proven track record managing consumer electronics, white-label products, or ODM/OEM hardware partnerships (cannabis, e-cigarette, or wellness tech preferred).
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of vaporization physics, aerosol science, battery management systems (BMS), heating elements, and the manufacturing limitations of plastics, metals, and ceramics.
• Cross-Cultural Competency: Strong experience collaborating with international suppliers, managing timezone gaps, and translating complex product requirements across different business cultures.
• Data-Driven Strategy: Proficiency in utilizing market data, consumer insights, and financial metrics to build business cases for new hardware investments or tooling allocations.
• Tools: Expert familiarity with Agile methodologies, product management platforms (Jira, Productboard), and basic PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) frameworks.
• Authorized to work in the US without the need for employer sponsorship.
• Existing network or familiarity with major vape hardware ODM suppliers in the industry.
• Deep knowledge of the fast-changing multi-state operator (MSO) landscape and regional vapor compliance laws.
• Ability to translate technical engineering tradeoffs into clear business advantages for sales teams and executive leadership.
