Job summary

Pine Island Public Schools is seeking a van driver to transport district students to and from school. Shifts run Monday through Friday with several time blocks: 6:30am–8:30am, 10:30am–12:30pm, and 2:30pm–4:30pm, with additional hours possible.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, ability to pass a drug test and DOT physical. Pay is $19.86 per hour; benefits include PTO and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be available Monday - Friday 6:30am - 4:00pm.
• Must pass drug test and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Transport students in a safe manner.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections on his/her van
• Complete daily mileage log
• Keep van clean on inside and outside
• Complies with all traffic ordinances
• Discipline to be handled by driver, but if needed, fill out discipline reports and forward to appropriate administrator
• Report accidents and violations to Transportation Director
• Employee is responsible to be knowledgeable of all District policies

Job Goal:

To provide safe transportation of district students to and from school. He/she is responsible for the general care and daily inspection of the van assigned to him/her. He/she shall be knowledgeable of all laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the safe transportation of students and of all district policy.
