• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Perform DOT required pre-trip inspections.
• Pick up students at assigned stops and ensure their safety.
• Enforce rules for proper discipline during rides.
• Safely operate the van following traffic laws and regulations.
• Check the van upon arrival to ensure no child is left behind.
• Report accidents immediately and complete necessary reports.
• Maintain the van by keeping fuel levels adequate and cleaning as needed.
• Possession of a valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
• Understanding of emergency evacuation techniques.
• Ability to administer basic first aid and/or be CPR certified if required.
• Knowledge of health standards and hazards.
• Understanding of state regulations pertaining to school bus operation.

Job description

The Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, as well as transporting students and school district authorized passengers on field trips and activities. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and effective communication with students and staff. Essential functions include performing pre-trip inspections, maintaining student discipline, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed during transit. The driver must also report any incidents and maintain the vehicle in good condition.

Pay: USD 16 per hour
