Job summary

LIFESPAN Services Early Learning Center in Burlington, NC is hiring a part-time After School Van Driver to transport school-age children after school. You will ensure safety, assist with entry/exit, and maintain transportation schedules with daily vehicle check routines.

The role emphasizes punctuality, safety, and positive interactions with families, while providing a reliable, community-focused after-school transportation service.

Qualifications

• Valid North Carolina driver's license with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass the NCDCDEE Childcare background Check
• Pass a drug screen
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Dependable, organized, and committed to safety.
• Ability to meet physical requirements associated with transportation duties.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children from area schools to the daycare according to an established schedule.
• Assist children as they enter and exit the vehicle.
• Maintain communication with the daycare regarding schedules, delays, or transportation concerns.
• Keep the van clean, fueled, and in good operating condition.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate transportation records as required.
• Assist with light daycare activities or classroom support when transportation duties are completed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of children in our care.
